AusHealth International Consultant Database

AusHealth offers short-term (usually ranging from one week to three months) and long-term (usually ranging from six months to five years) opportunities for individual consultants as technical or specialist advisers on health projects. Opportunities may arise in regions including Asia, Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.

Registration requirements

Eligible consultants, with expertise in the health sector , are invited to register on our Consultant Database. This will ensure you are contacted when suitable opportunities arise.

If you would like to register, you must have the following:

Qualifications: at least a Bachelor degree in your field of expertise, and preferably a Masters and/or PhD.
Work Experience: at least three years experience in your field of expertise, either in Australia or overseas.
Country Experience: some overseas experience in developing countries, or experience in rural or remote Australia. (However, if you are just embarking on your career, have completed a degree, and have at least three years work experience in Australia in your field of expertise, but no overseas or remote experience, you may be eligible to apply for a position as a so-called 'Less Experienced Professional'.)
Personal qualities include: to be able to work in remote locations as part of a team; strong cross-cultural communication skills and cultural sensitivity, report writing skills; flexibility and adaptability; initiative.

Updating your database record (existing consultants)

Once you have registered, you will receive login details by email. You can then use these to enter your database record at anytime and update it, as required. We recommend you do this at least once per year, or more often if necessary. From time to time we will email all registered consultants reminding them to update their record.
