This project is now complete after three successful Phases in facilitating the Ministry of Health to improve planning, management and coordination within both the Ministry and across the health sector nationally.

Aus Health International successfully managed and implemented the first three phases of this project with major achievements including: development of a national health plan; implementation of a budgeting process that has allowed resources to be allocated to better meet priority needs; a comprehensive role delineation of services; development of a human resource management system; review and development of a revised national drug plan; improvement in public health management and coordination down to the community level; and, the development of a facilities Master Plan for Vaiola Hospital.
The third phase and its extension focused on enhancing sustainability and integration of the functions of general, financial and human resouce management - consolidating achievements from Phases 1 and 2 and developing a model and guidelines that can be used by other ministries.
Aus Health International was responsible for all project management and direction and, technical expertise.
